The Standing Rock (“SAGE”) Renewable Energy Power Authority acts as a Public Power Authority (PPA) that will control and operate all the energy production assets within the reservation. SAGE institutionalizes SRST’s involvement in renewable energy projects, facilitates agreements with third-party entities, and holds Standing Rock’s equity interest.

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead our Anpetu Wi Wind Farm project. This position will be responsible for oversight of the project development of Anpetu WI wind farm.   Top essential functions and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides development oversight activity for defined project components and facilitates the minimalization of project problems in order to lessen the impact to the project’s success.
  • Ensures assigned project components are keeping within schedules and budget.
  • Looks for opportunities to maximize project efficiencies.
  • Prepares project reports as requested and coordinates between project component teams.
  • Oversees the fulfillment of development-related reports, and schedule.
  • Stay up to date on sustainable energy components including:
    • Wind study/data analytics
    • Land contract for turbines, transmission/distribution, and service road access activities
    • Environmental/regulatory activities
    • Transmission/distribution activities
    • Wind turbine developer activities


Our ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainable energy and take a collaborative and diligent approach to their work. This person will also have 10+ years of experience providing developmental advisory services supporting the development of wind turbine projects (100 mw+). Our candidate will also embody the following skills, abilities and values:

  • Insatiable curiosity for expanding sustainable energy knowledge and its application.
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills are essential; must demonstrate previous success in building effective business relationships.
  • Must be deadline/critical path oriented and have a strong ability to prioritize.
  • Some travel to project site will be required.
  • Experience with project planning software applications is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to efficiently and tactfully interact with third-party agencies, as well as all levels within the organization.
  • Self-starter and able to prioritize tasks and manage a flexible and remote working schedule.
  • Meticulous organizational methods.
  • Must have a four-year degree in engineering or a four-year degree in any academic major program with demonstrated on-the-job experience in large energy-related projects.


The Project Manager role is a remote position with travel to SAGE office in Fort Yates/Standing Rock, North Dakota. Compensation will be dependent on experience, skills and qualifications.
